Moorooduc Robinson Pinot Noir 750ml

Mornington Peninsula

Description

Bright ruby garnet with a lifted nose divulging pure red cherry and a touch of raspberry and rhubarb, with perfumed notes of sandalwood and violets. On the palate, the wine is tighter and more savoury than on the nose, with damask rose, red cherry and quite a lot of earthy savoury structure. Long and tight – a wine that will reward 5 to 8 years in the cellar, or a vigorous decant at the very least. This wine is made from specially selected fruit from Hugh and Isabelle Robinson’s vineyard on the Old Moorooduc Road. Our single vineyard Estate wines celebrate the individual character of certain special sites around the Moorooduc area.

About Moorooduc Estate

All the wines are made on site in our rammed earth winery. From a very modest 20 tonne winery set up in 1987, we now have a more sophisticated facility with a small but high quality Bucher press and an excellent Vaslin – Bucher destemmer. Since 2006 we have had the facility to chill fruit in a refrigerated shipping container which has been particularly beneficial with the warmer climate and earlier vintages we have been experiencing over recent years. In the winery, the emphasis is on gentle winemaking methods with some quality control where we believe this is important. (Website)
