Red Hill is a new acquisition for Allies. Having done previous vintages in neighboring Main Ridge (in fact this vineyard is a stones throw from the Main Ridge boundary), this Red Hill vineyard shares many characteristics with it. Deep red fertile soils, cooler elevated position and sheltered easterly aspect combine with a generally cool vintage to produce a wine with outstanding aromatics, silky mid palate and a very focused and refreshing finish. Yields, however, were tiny and this wine is in very limited supply.
